Truth and Lies

Silent-Rage's picture
IWM# 503

IWM serial ID: 00503

Through rose colored glasses
Truth and lies can not be seen
Hidden beneath the surface
Once held in high esteem

Restraints made of twine, cages made of steel
Behind locked doors is a driving passion
Controlling consumption with a filling rage
Fears distorted by all that is imagined
Losing perspective on what is real
Twisted dreams and gloomy days
Perpetuating what’s in the mind
Tormented with a sullen empty gaze

Diseases well hidden that still remain
Disorders that are killing romantically
Ferocious appetites for some relief
Disregarded so careless and impractically
Disguised behind a falsely framed smile
An angry soul struggling for resurrection
Unsatisfied with the life that it leads
Strolling aimless with no sense of direction

Through rose colored glasses
Truth and lies can not be seen
Hidden beneath the surface
Once held in the high esteem

Despite the appearance outwardly shown
The mirrors reflection on the obscene
Spreads infection to whom ever it meets
Rage like a contagion not quarantined
Withheld information buried too deep
Composed an anthem for the wicked
Unleashing in its path of destruction
A wake of all that have been sickened

Mistake not for strength what is weakness
Rotting inside what is never coming out
Fermenting a spirit denied of its dreams
A heart that is beating nothing but doubt
Indescribable horrors tainting the vision
Disorienting laughter staining the sound
Painful remembrance starving the body
Stand above another placed in the ground

Through rose colored glasses
Truth and lies can not be seen
Hidden beneath the surface
Once held in the high esteem

I went through a bit of a block when I was trying to write Ghosts. I was trying to put this one somehow into it. I was pretty happy when I realized that it was two songs and not one. then they seemed to work better.
